Cave Art

The Earliest cave art dates back to 30,000 years ago and was often done using coal, magnesium oxide, hematite and ochre, the art itself didnt really have any depth and people back then didnt have any real sense  of depth of field, the people they drew had no faces and were just stick figures drawn side on much like the animals e.g.

3/10/11 (Week 2)

This week we looked at the egyptians and the greeks and how they effected the way we do things nowadays.

the greeks made there buildings so that when you looked up at them from a persons perspective they looked perfectly straight, when in fact they were slightly indented at the bottom and wider at the top, the greeks used a thing called the 'golden rectangle'

The greek art that was recovered in ancient ruins shows that the greeks were obsessed with portraying sex into there artwork (maybe this is why most things now are based around sex appeal as most things in the past have had sex+nudity involved?)
